At Catherine Evans Photography, based in Shropshire, I would reccomend an engagement shoot/pre wedding shoot in preparation for your big day.
This experience helps many of my wedding couples feel a lot more relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera on their big day.
Gem and Matt said: “Catherine made the whole experience fun and comfortable. The pre-wedding shoot put us at our ease in what is, unless you are a model used to being in front of a camera, a wholly peculiar situation. There are a lot of reasons why a pre-wedding shoot is a fantastic idea:
1) I will often meet up, have an informal and friendly coffee and get to know you and your personalities and go through the timings of your wedding day. I know you will be hugely excited about your big day – but trust me, I am too – each and every time I meet a new couple! And I am happy to answer any questions or worries you have right through from this stage to the very end.
2) We get to discuss everything about your big day, what sort of pictures you want, who you want in them, how many you want to be formal or natural and we get to know each other helping you to feel more comfortable around us and the camera. Believe me, even after being a professional photographer for years, I know how nerve-wracking it can be! If one or both of you are nervous or shy, I will reassure you and typically start the shoot by using my zoom lens and allowing you just to walk together and interact. I will blend into the background and you will hardly notice I am there! I would aim for a variety of shots, capturing everything from the environment we are in, to close-ups of you as a couple and often a macro shot of your beautiful ring! I can also guide you on how to pose, how to make your dress look really feminine and striking on the ‘big day’ and offer a few inside tips to posing. Before the shoot I often advise couples on what to wear, particularly colours depending on the season and how to compliment (not match!) each other through what you wear.
3) It’s a brilliant opportunity for us to do a recce of the wedding venue itself to help us prepare. Or we sometimes meet up where the couple got engaged, (though sadly – this is not always possible due to far away travel to tropical islands where people may have got engaged. But we would never turn down an invite!) Or we choose a spot that is special to you, like a favourite walk or historical location, or maybe just your own home!
As part of the shoot you receive an online gallery of images and a 12×8 fine art print. I always spend time editing all images I give you to the same high quality, professional finish as the photos from your wedding day itself. This is just a little taster to get you even more excited. Gifts can be produced from your pre-wedding shoot, I can offer stunning quality products and albums and are happy to quote.
The pre-wedding shoot can also create some of those special hand-made touches that help make all wedding days so unique and personal – such sign boards. A sign board is an image which is framed and mounted with a wide mount so that guests can sign it and leave comments for the happy couple.
“We absolutely love them! Thank you!! Can’t believe how happy and comfortable we look. Thanks again. I can’t stop watching the slide show!”
“Our experience with Catherine Evans Photography began with a pre – wedding shoot; this was such a great idea and really helped us to feel comfortable being in front of the camera to reduce the nerves on the day!”
