Exciting news… Photography Courses in Shropshire

I am now ready to release my two photography courses, a beginners photography course and a children’s photography course, which I have been writing for the last month or so!

Have you got a great camera but not sure how to use it fully?

Or generally just pop it into auto? Are you a Mum or Dad and would love to take better photographs of your children? You often get some great shots of your kids, but it’s a bit hit and miss and you don’t know why? Then come along to one of Catherine Evans’ beginner’s photography courses in Shropshire!

I would like to show you how to take great photos of your children. Learn all about exposure, depth of field and good light. Improve your photography skills for those times when you can’t have a professional photographer with you, such as holidays, weekend walks or just playing at home.

The beginner’s photography course will compromise of four sessions of practical learning, with cakes and bottomless cups of coffee at my studio and outdoors on Linley estate.

 Who will be teaching you?

I am a trained photographer with over 12 years experience, running a successful business in Newborn, Family Portraits and Wedding Photography.

I also have teaching experience as I used to work in a secondary school as head of dance. I still work for two local primary schools teaching Dance and PE. As a qualified teacher I am also DBS checked.

  1. Beginner’s Photography Course

This course will run for four weeks and includes four sessions of 2 hours.

It’s perfect for those wanting to learn more about their DSLR camera and take it off auto. I will set weekly tasks and provide you with feedback as you learn.

The course will cover:

  1. Learning how to get out of automatic mode; aperture priority, the exposure triangle, white balance and focus
  2. Creating interesting composition
  3. Understanding light
  4. Creating natural expression.

Cost: £150 – Introductory offer of £99 to the first five students to book.

Location: My studio at Linley, near Bishops Castle.

Dates: TBC as lockdown eases but looking to run four sessions in July 2020.

Equipment: Preferably a camera, which does more than point and shoot and we can work towards using your camera in aperture priority. (or manual depending on experience). Please make sure it is fully charged and bring your charger, manual and memory card, as well as a pen and paper to make notes.
